baptism (n.): a symbolic display that shows you are a new creation in Christ. It is for those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior.
If interested please fill out the application form/speak with Tim (nobodybutjoo@gmail.com).
“and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ…”
1 Peter 3:21
“You are all sons of God through faith in Jesus Christ, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
Galatians 3:27

Eunice May Update
No commentsHello everyone!
I feel like it’s been a long time since I’ve updated yall but it’s only been a little over a month =) There isn’t TOO much to update you guys on so this email shouldn’t be tooo long ^.~
I went home the first week of May, and I had a wonderful time chillin with my familiy and friends. It was super refreshing to see a lot of you guys again, it made me very happy. I wish I could have stayed another week…..but next time I’m home I’ll be there for a couple weeks =)
So since I’ve come back from nova, we had a day event with a casa hogar Albergue Temporal on the 16th. The ninos there are placed in that home just temporarily while the government tries to figure out their home situation. Sometimes the kids go back to their parents and other times they get placed in a permament casa hogar. We had 4 americans come down from San Diego and we took the kids to the museum and to the Riviera, which is one of the oldest buildings in Ensenada, and we also took them by the big flag downtown and they played at the playground. It was a very chill, very fun day. Later that night I was able to go to a minor league baseball game! Somebody my friend Steph knows gave us 3 free tickets so Me, Steph and Alejandro went the game. On Sunday, Gaby was speaking for a little bit at a church in San Diego, and they were going to be giving us a chunk of their offering from the month of May so me Steph and Patti tagged along to support her. After church we just hung out in dfferent places in San Diego…..some girl time =)

Crossline Picnic Kick-Off
This past Saturday, we kicked-off the young-adult/singles/college group with a great picnic! Weather reports had predicted scattered thunderstorms, but with the grace of God, it was clear skies the entire time! It was great seeing so many former Upside members come out, as well as the current Upside seniors (who are soon to become part of the group)! We were also blessed with the presence of Pastor Danny, Pastor Chang, Pastor Hyungmin, and Doctor Young Kim.
For all the younger students who aren’t out of high school yet, enjoy the pictures below and see what you can expect when you graduate!

Tests
Good luck to all our Virginia students who will be taking the SOLs this week! Study hard! Here are some studying tips for you!
1 commentEveryone is different, different methods work for different people the following are only suggestions on improving upon your current studying techniques.
It is best to review the material right after class when it’s still fresh in your memory.
Don’t try to do all your studying the night before the test. Instead space out your studying, review class materials at least several times a week, focusing on one topic at a time.
Have all of your study material in front of you: lecture notes, course textbooks, study guides and any other relevant material.
Find a comfortable and quiet place to study with good lighting and little distractions (try avoiding your own bed, it is very tempting to just lie down and take a nap).
Start out by studying the most important information.
Learn the general concepts first, don’t worry about learning the details until you have learned the main ideas.
Take notes and write down a summary of the important ideas as you read through your study material.
Take short breaks frequently. Your memory retains the information that you study at the beginning and the end better than what you study in the middle.
Space out your studying, you’ll learn more by studying a little every day instead of waiting to cram at the last minute. By studying every day, the material will stay in your long-term memory but if you try to study at the last moment, the material will only reside in your short-term memory that you’ll easily forget.
Make sure that you understand the material well, don’t just read through the material and try to memorize everything.
If you choose to study in a group, only study with others who are serious about the test.
Test yourself or have someone test you on the material to find out what your weak and strong areas are. You can use the review questions at the end of each chapter or practice tests the teacher may give out as well as other materials.
Listening to relaxing music such as classical or jazz on a low volume can relieve some of the boredom of studying.
Don’t study later than the time you usually go to sleep, you may fall asleep or be tempted to go to sleep, instead try studying in the afternoon or early evening. If you are a morning person try studying in the morning.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Don’t forget to tell your mom how much you love her!
