Here is a quick update from Eunice!
it’s me Eunice =)
I arrived safely here in Mexico. My first day has been very busy, and I’m glad that it’s been busy because it doesn’t give me a chance to think about how sad I am about leaving Virginia. We have a number of different events coming up here at Genesis. Tomorrow, Sat we’re helping out at an event called DIF (sorry I don’t know what that stands for) out at Tecate. The Genesis staff is in charge of preparing food for 1000 ninos and we’re also helping each orphanage paint a mural of their day. I’m going to be in charge of organizing the painting area for the kids. So today I loaded our bus with everything that we’re taking to Tecate, and helped clear out the driveway that was packed full of junk and trash so that we could park the bus and the truck we’re taking tomorrow. You won’t believe how dirty I am right now, I need to shower tonight anyhow b/c we’re leaving 6 in the morning.
Another event coming up is Los Colores de Mis Suenos which is October 24-25th. Some of my friends that I worked with this past summer are coming to help out b/c their church is going to serving the migrant families for this event so I’m really excited to be seeing them again. This event is for the migrant kids nearby our ranch and it’s a day of fun with games, face painting, crafts and skits, bible verses and prayer. The church that’s coming down is going to be doing some construction as well, turning an abandoned chicken coop into a kindergarten. It should be interesting hahahha~Vivan Los Ninos is another event we’re hosting November 15th for the ninos from the orphanages to take part in multiple activities. This won’t be at our ranch, it’s going to be at a park b/c there isn’t enough room at our ranch for all the kids. So yea we have a bunch of events coming up that will keep me busy =)
Email me whenever you guys get a chance please! It’ll be nice to continually hear back from home. Also if anyone has simple recipes please email them to me!
